Mel (Melanie) Harvey owns and operates Top Notch Accounts.

With 25 years working in bookkeeping and 18 years in payroll, Mel has extensive experience in all facets of:

  • Accounts receivable,
  • Accounts payable and payroll processing,
  • Reconciliations,
  • Reporting,
  • BAS submission, and
  • Lodgement of payroll tax and superannuation.

She regularly liaises with accountants and the ATO, and has experience with salary packaging.

As a Registered BAS Agent, Mel keeps up to date with changes in the bookkeeping/accounting industry, and undergoes Continuing Professional Education, and adheres to the Code of Professional Conduct.

Mel’s experience includes a variety of accounting and payroll software programs (predominantly MYOB, Quickbooks, Xero and Reckon One, but others too) and extensive use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. She has well-developed office administration experience, as Office Manager in two businesses (dealing daily with suppliers and clients).

Mel prides herself on being dedicated and extremely hard working, with a can-do, positive attitude. She is speedy but thorough, efficient and accurate. Mel has a friendly, helpful demeanour, as well as a good sense of humour. She can always “hit the ground running” when commencing with any new business, as well as providing a high level of customer service.

Mel believes in operating within best practice within the industry, however she is also flexible and can “think outside the square.”

Not only does Mel have extensive bookkeeping and payroll experience, but she also has extensive administration experience, as well as experience in IT, marketing, desktop publishing and printing.
